Artist Reception: What Does It Even Mean?

About the Exhibit

Like many abstract painters, Jamie Bowers enjoys listening to comments from people who see his work. Viewers will often seek to find meaning in his work, whether intended or not. Often their expressed thoughts can be quite profound and introspective. Other times… not so much. “What does it even mean?”

Texture and vivid colors are hallmarks of Jamie’s paintings, and he continually experiments with combinations of paint, plaster, ash, and other finishes. Jamie enjoys the process of completing a painting. Each step is experimental in many ways, and each is important to the final result. It is a process of problem solving, with successes and failures along the way. He finds this aspect of the work very exciting and rewarding.

About the Artist

Jamie Bowers is an abstract painter and musician (bass player). He has exhibited his paintings in various shows and galleries in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Northern Wisconsin before moving to Eau Claire in 2019.
