Haunting...mysterious...eerie...The vocalizations of the Common Loon are symbolic of the northwoods night, piercing the air and reminding us of the presence of this fascinating bird on northern lakes. Dr. Lauren Wentz, who has studied loon behavior for the past thirty years, will share past and recent discoveries of what loon sounds mean and what they can tell us about the lives of loons here in Wisconsin and points north.
