Chippewa Valley Learning in Retirement Presents The Sesquicentennial of Eau Claire: The Impact of Religion on a Changing City

Brian will attempt to trace the growth of religion in Eau Claire from the earliest settlements to the present. The focus will be on the three principal denominations—Roman Catholicism, Lutheranism, and the mainline Protestant denominations of British origin. The use of religion as a force in maintaining ethnic identity and language, as an arbiter of morality, and as a political force will all be discussed.
