Brian will examine the changes in the lumbering and milling of timber between the 1880s and the present time. His focus will be on the early lumber camps and mills along the Chippewa River in Eau Claire and along the Red Cedar River in Menomonie. The modern harvesting portion will focus on the 500-acre Blakeley timber farm north of Menomonie on earlier property of Knapp, Stout & Company. Co-sponsored by Chippewa Valley Learning in Retirement.
