Join Eau Claire Writer-in-Residence Ken Szymanski and musician Derick Black as they blend music and spoken word to create a live biography tracing the life of Mike Teclaw, a long-gone small-town cheesemaker and tavern owner. Teclaw was Szymanski’s grandfather—one he never knew. Together, through interwoven gospel, blues, stories, and songs, Szymanski and Black will work to turn a tombstone back into a man. This universal story shows how all our ancestors, even those we never knew, still have stories left to tell.
