Program Description

Details

Set up as a mock bedroom, this participatory exhibit will showcase curated objects from a forthcoming state-wide exhibit—Los Tsev (Home): Cia Siab, WI—focused on Hmong life in Wisconsin, aimed at celebrating fifty years of Hmong in the United States. Participants will be able to learn about how Hmong Americans have cultivated hope as they confront the legacies of war and trauma in their everyday lives.

Prompts about the objects will allow library goers to ask larger questions about hope and resilience. The project directors of Los Tsev (Home) will join the library in answering questions and engaging with participants.

More about Los Tsev (Home): Cia Siab, WI

CiaSiabLogoLos Tsev (Home): Cia Siab, WI is a grassroots collective of Hmong American scholars, advocates, organizers, artists, and community members from across the state of Wisconsin. This core team are collectively involved in researching, envisioning, and executing the exhibit (to be launched in 2025 across Wisconsin) to commemorate fifty years of Hmong resettlement in Wisconsin. Los Tsev (Home) uses art and the humanities to ask questions about trauma, resilience, and hope in order to showcase how Hmong in Wisconsin have confronted the legacies of war, ongoing racism, and how they have remade home here in Wisconsin.
